Cooking Tips

There are a few do's and don'ts when it comes to cooking your Joe's goods.  Firstly, because there is very little fat in the sausages, you will need to use a little spray oil (Fry Light or similar) on the skins so that the skins get a chance to brown and become more tender.

Grill, Fry or BBQ Sausages

Grill - the best way to cook Joe's sausages is on the grill, preheat your grill to a moderate setting, spray them with a little spray oil and whilst cooking turn the sausages regularly until they are a golden brown colour, all over (approximately 12 minutes). If you cook your sausages too quickly this is when the skins can become tough.
Fry - frying Joe's is also quick and healthy.  Spray the sausages with a little spray oil, cook on a moderate heat until all of the sausages are nicely brown.
BBQ - if you are BBQing, do not cook the sausages too quickly and remember to ensure they are cooked through (not just burnt on the outside).   Coooking then over a fierce heat / flames will make the skins tough.
Actifry - Some suggest removing the paddle, some suggest using a little Spray oil, others not... Either way they take about 12 minutes to cook and we are told are absolutely delicious (we haven't tried them in an Actifry)!

*defrosting your sauasges in a microwave can contribute to teh skins becoming tough*

Joe's Marinated Meats

The best method to cook your steaks is to grill them.  Simply place the steaks under a moderate heat for 5 - 6 minutes each side. Check regularly and be careful not to overcook.
To pan fry your steaks, spray the pan with a little spray oil, cook on a moderate heat for about 5-6 minutes each side.
To oven cook your steaks, place on a baking tray in the middle of the oven at 180o for about 10-12 minutes or until cooked through.
Cut the meat into strips and stir fry with seasonal vegetables. There should be enough marinade on the meat to coat the vegetables, Cook for about 5-6 minutes or until cooked through.
George Foreman - Preheat the grill and place the meats on the heat, make sure they are cooked through before serving.

Joe's Meatballs

The best way to cook our Meatballs is to fry them off in a frying pan until they are browned all round and add your favourite tomato sauce.

Joe's Burgers

The best way to cook our burgers is to cook under a moderate grill setting and turn regularly.

Chicken Fillets

The best way to cook our chicken fillets is as you would any other shop bought chicken (but we bet ours are more succulent).  Try cutting the chicken up into strips and use in a stir fry or try wrapping in foil and stuff with chopped tomatoes and mozerella and oven cook?
